Captain Jon Pinney is thirty years old and has been fishing the waters inshore and offshore of Pensacola Florida his entire life.  Jon is a third generation fisherman in Pensacola.  He is married and has  a five year old son who also enjoys fishing as much as he does.  Jon is a full time Deputy Sheriff and runs a fishing charter business part time. 

 Jon has fished all over the Gulf Of Mexico from Tampa Florida to Venice Louisiana and loves all types of fishing, however his passion is bluewater fishing. Jon has also fished in tropical locations such as the Dominican Republic and the Virgin Island's catching big Blue Marlin. Jon also enjoys sharing his knowledge of fishing with everyone and enjoys watching beginners catch fish of a lifetime.

 Captain Jon has competed in and placed in numerous tournaments during the past several years including competitive billfish tournaments on the Gulf Coast and in the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as the competitive SKA King Mackerel circuit. His father and brother are also Coast Guard Licensed Captains.

 Jon is also a Freelance Journalist. Jon has written articles for Florida Sportsman Magazine and wrote for the Pensacola News Journal fishing section (aka Hook, Line and Sinker) for over two years. While writing for the Pensacola News Journal he covered all areas of fishing including bluewater articles as well as bottom fishing articles.

 Jon also has experience in transporting and delivering large sportfishing vessels across the Gulf and through out the Caribbean to places such as the Dominican Republic and the Virgin Islands.
